Pennsylvania Minuteman Press Wins Small Business of the Year

Karl and Nancy Chapple first bought their Minuteman Press franchise located at 920 7th Ave. in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, in June 2007. The full-service design, printing, and marketing center has remained open throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of their hard work and dedication to the community, the pair receives the Small Business of the Year award by the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce.

“Winning small business of the year is a great honor,” says Karl. “It is a confirmation that we are fulfilling our promise to provide an awesome customer experience.”

According to the Beaver County Chamber of Commerce website, award winners are “recognized for exceptional contributions as business people and community leaders.” It also notes that winners work “well beyond their own self-interests, in collaboration with others in the community, to improve the quality of place and lives of all residents in our region.”

Since the pandemic took its hold in March 2020, Minuteman Press Beaver Falls stepped up to support its clients. Karl reflects, “While we offer COVID-19-related products to promote safety and social distancing, it was obvious that our ability to deliver the printed products that our customers depend on to keep their businesses going was a welcome relief, and that we were one constant during a time of turmoil and uncertainty.”

As a local business leader for over 13 years, other small business owners turned to Karl for advice in addition to his products. He explains, “My advice to small businesses at the start of the pandemic was to 1) conserve cash; and 2) continue to market. While those still apply as strongly as ever, it is time to look ahead.”

He says the pandemic won’t be here forever, and although there will be a lasting paradigm shift, businesses need to evaluate what needs to change and what needs to stay the same.
