PDS Equipment Holds First Annual UV Energize Event
Shop owners looking to expand their UV printing skills flew to Nashville for the two-day event.
Shop owners from all across the United States and Canada with an interest in UV printing gathered at PDS Equipment headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee for the first annual UV Energize event on September 4-5. According to the company, 85 people attended the two-day event to become better at the UV print process.
Steve Weist, CEO of PDS Equipment, says UV Energize was organized to help the UV printing community learn how to properly use and maintain a UV printer, and how to set up the workflow for production runs.
At the event, there were seven different learning stations for attendees to visit and drill key areas they are interested in. The stations included UV rotary device printing, UV texture printing, UV glitter/foil, UV color management, jig print/favorites, maintenance, and UV roll-to-roll print and cut. The company also taught high-margin applications.
In addition to the learning opportunities, attendees Michael and Suzette Boltz received a free Mimaki 3D printer, courtesy PDS Equipment.
“Those that attended (reported that they) were blown away with all the information from basic maintenance, jig setup, and UV spot gloss,” Weist remarks while looking forward to the future. “We are just barely scratching the surface of what is going to happen with the UV print market.”
PDS Equipment is already planning next year’s UV Energize event, which will take place in Nashville on September 9-10, 2020. To RSVP, email Steve@pdsequipment.com. Limited spots are available.
