Pantone Unveils Metallic Shimmers Color Collection

Pantone Color Institute reveals its latest color collection entitled Metallic Shimmers. The lineup features 200 colors intended for apparel, accessories, and home goods.
“In a world of sheen and shine where the aim is to achieve an even greater degree of luminosity, metallic shine is being seen across every single category from fashion and furnishings to cars, consumer electronics, and color cosmetics,” says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. “The (new) colors were thoughtfully curated to enable a finish that is directional and chic with a timeless application.”
Hues in the collection include core basics such as PANTONE 20-0002 Ice Palace and PANTONE 20-0034 Golden Egg, as well as shades from other color families such as PANTONE 20-0146 Magnetic Blue and PANTONE 20-0131 Purple Sequin. The organization offers a preview of the full lineup on its website, as well as recommendations on applications.
The latest collection comes as the company ramps up for 2019. In early Sept. 2018, Pantone released its 2019 Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report in conjunction with New York Fashion Week (NYFW).
