Pantone Reports NYFW Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 Color Trends
Pantone says the colors reflect timelessness, versatility, and functionality while displaying personality and seasonality.
Pantone Color Institute unveils its Fashion Color Trend Report, a guide to the fashion industry’s seasonal color trends. The report features the top 10 colors, as well as four classic neutrals that the industry can expect to see on the New York runway as designers introduce their fall and winter collections.
According to Pantone Color Institute experts, colors for autumn/winter 2020/2021 reflect timelessness, versatility, and functionality while displaying personality and seasonality. At the same time, the collection of colors “lend themselves to unique color statements that stand out.”
“Reflecting a ‘less is more’ mindset that is becoming increasingly important to consumers prioritizing value and functionality, our color palette is stripped of excess,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Imbued with strength and personality, colors for autumn/winter 2020/2021 encourage our ongoing desire for unique self-expression through creative and unusual visual statements that stand out.”
Colors in the palette include amberglow, samba, sandstone, classic blue, green sheen, rose tan, ultramarine green, fired brick, peach nougat, and magenta-purple. Colors in the classics category include almond oil, blue depths, sleet, and military olive.
