OptConnect Appoints Steve Garrett as Chief Product Officer
Since joining OptConnect in 2012, he's played a role in the release of every single product the company has launched.
Kaysville, Utah-based OptConnect, a provider of managed service wireless connectivity for a variety of applications, including digital signage, announces the appointment of Steve Garrett as chief product officer.
Garrett is the former director of sales engineering and has been instrumental in all product-related strategy and execution since joining the company in 2012, it said. In his new role, Garrett will own the entire strategic development for all OptConnect products. He will have full autonomy to adjust and optimize both new and existing products to best serve the overall company vision.
“Steve has always played the lead role in almost every software or hardware product we’ve introduced to our customers,” says Chris Baird, CEO of OptConnect. “He has demonstrated impactful leadership and dedication to the business. This promotion is well-deserved and hard-earned.”
Before joining OptConnect in 2012, Garrett was the CIO at Navigator Communications. In his career, he has held CIO positions in both health care and telecom. With more than 40 years of experience in the technology industry, Garrett brings extensive knowledge of product technology and sales to OptConnect, the company says.

In addition, OptConnect has expanded its sales team with the hiring of Sean Horan as senior enterprise sales director. Horan has more than 14 years of M2M/IoT sales, business development, and product management experience. Before joining OptConnect, he was sales director at Sigfox, where he oversaw IoT Solution sales in North America across multiple IoT verticals.
