Medford, Oregon, Minuteman Press Undergoes Major Expansion

Dave Greenhalgh and his co-owner, Sean Byrne, were recently able to double the size of their production area.

The Minuteman Press franchise in Medford, Oregon, owned by Dave Greenhalgh for nearly a quarter-century, recently underwent a major physical expansion, doubling its production space.

“We completed a major renovation that doubled our production area from 3,600 square feet to 7,200 square feet,” says Greenhalgh. “The entire remodel was designed to improve our workflow and to provide even better working conditions for our staff.  We also remodeled our lobby.  These renovations and streamlined workflow have made a big difference in our production capacity, which helps us do everything we need to do to serve our clients well.”

Greenhalgh says he opened his business-part of the Farmingdale, New York-based company Minuteman Press International-in 1995, and it has been family-owned and operated ever since.

Prior to opening his Minuteman Press franchise Greenhalgh was in medical sales, but while he advanced up to become national sales manager for an entire division, he tired of the traveling and thought being a franchisee would be a good way to become a business owner, he says, He attended a franchise trade fair in San Franciscoand it was there he met with representatives from Minuteman Press, who soon had him visiting Bay Area Minuteman shops to talk to the owners and get a feel for the business.

Minuteman Press support, starting with my regional vice president Chris Jutt, has been exceptional,” Greenhalgh says. “Their World Expo is a must-attend for us. It provides valuable training seminars on current business opportunities, vendors showing new product lines, and most importantly for me is talking business with other owners. The home office’s support in evaluating equipment is an excellent resource before making a purchase. Talking with another franchise owner who has the equipment in his shop that we are considering is also invaluable.”

He says that franchising is not for everyone, but if you’re willing to put in the hours and the effort to get yourself out into the community, it can pay off, as it did for him.

“We work with large and small companies from a large variety of industries. Medical, manufacturing, real estate, and service companies make up a large percentage of our business,” Greenhalgh says. “When I started Minuteman Press, I joined the chamber of commerce, a professional leads club, and a Rotary organization. I remained active in these and other organizations for many years. We currently provide financial support to a number of local non-profit organizations and participate in numerous community events throughout the year.”

Greenhalgh’s Minuteman Press is located at 722 Rossanley Drive, Medford, Oregon, 97501. The store can be reached at 541-776-7966 and its website is here.
