Legrand Opens New California Distribution Center
The company's new facility doubles the size of its previous West Coast distribution center.
West Hartford, Connecticut-based Legrand, North and Central America, which provides electrical and digital building infrastructure-serving the digital signage market, among many others-announces the opening of a new distribution center in Moreno Valley, California.
The new location replaces the company’s Rancho Cucamonga facility about 30 miles away. The new site is 340,000 square feet, more than double the size of the previous distribution center. Legrand says initially, its audio-visual division, as well as its electrical wiring systems and building control systems divisions, will be in the new facility, and there is the capacity to add new business units in the future. The new facility should create approximately 40 new jobs over the next three years, the company says.
Along with the additional space, the company says it has installed a range of new automation technologies designed to improve customer service, logistics and shipping times.
“As we continue to expand our market presence in North America both organically and through additional acquisitions, we are constantly seeking new ways to make it easier for our customers to do business with Legrand,” says John Selldorff, president and CEO of Legrand, North and Central America. “The investment in this facility is part of a broader plan to continue streamlining and evolving our operations at multiple company locations across the country.”
