ICC Partners with Iconic Rock Poster Artist to Raise Funds for Animal Rescue
International Coatings Company (ICC) partners with rock poster artist David Edward Byrd to raise funds for pet rescue organizations.
CERRITOS, Calif.-International Coatings Company (ICC) partners with rock poster artist David Edward Byrd to raise funds for pet rescue organizations. The two joined forces late last month in California.
A veteran in the poster-art scene, Byrd’s output includes iconic prints for concerts, artists, and venues like Woodstock, the Fillmore East, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, and a host of major Broadway musicals. ICC initially approached Byrd and his partner Jolino Beserra, a mosaic artist, about the idea of running a charity drive featuring Byrd’s artwork.
“They enthusiastically agreed,” the company says, adding that the duo suggested two pet rescue organizations that they have long admired and supported: Flying Fur and Pet Finder. ICC notes that Beserra and Byrd have a personal connection to animal care.
“For nearly 40 years they have been taking in and caring for street dogs,” says the company. “Currently, they support a six-pack, ranging from a four-pound Weeniehuahua named Jane Ear to a 75-pound Lab/Setter mix named T-Bone.”

To kick off the donation drive, ICC provided the inks and printed part of the shirts before the start of the event. The initiative also featured contributions from a variety of companies in the decorated apparel industry, on both the equipment and supply sides. Cotton Heritage donated 500 shirts to Byrd and ICC, while Anatol Equipment screen printed the remainder of the shirts on their machines. In addition to live printing, ICC hosted a meet-and-greet with Byrd who signed T-shirts for donors.
In total, the drive raised $1,250 in donations for the two pet rescue organizations. ICC says that Mr. Byrd and Mr. Beserra were “so thrilled with the response to the charity drive, that they have decided to create a page on their web store for the continuing sale of custom animal rescue T-shirts and signed posters.”
