Florida Minuteman Franchisee Earns Local Chamber’s Small Business of the Year Award
Thomas Sook has only owned his Pinellas Park, Florida, franchise since the summer of 2017.
Thomas Sook, who owns the Minuteman Press franchise in Pinellas Park, Florida, has won the Small Business of the Year award from the Pinellas Park Chamber of Commerce.
He says he is particularly honored since he has only owned the business for three years, and believes he has made his mark through networking and community engagement.
“Since I opened Minuteman Press in Pinellas Park in August 2017, I have been active in the Chamber including serving as an ambassador and participating in many events and functions,” says Sook. “I have visited many local businesses on behalf of the Chamber and encouraged everyone to be active and attend Chamber events. I am so humbled and honored to receive Small Business of the Year.”
In addition to being a current ambassador for the Pinellas Park Chamber of Commerce, Sook is also president-elect of the Kiwanis Club of Pinellas Park a member of the local Business Network International chapter.
“Printing is definitely alive and well,” Sook says. “The market has changed over the years with less printing being done in the publishing side of the industry (phone books and magazines) we never specialized in, but much more being done in the areas we do specialize in such as shorter run printing, full color digital printing, specialty items, and promotional products. …
“There are several manufacturing firms in our area that have been some of our best customers. We often run product inserts and user manuals for them. We also print for several of the local A/C and plumbing companies. Overall, our customer base is quite diverse.”
Sook is a franchisee of Farmingdale, New York-based Minuteman Press International.
