Featured Project: Wrapping to Raise Autism Awareness
Florida Vehicle Wraps owner Anthony Timmerman says it was a real honor to be part of a project like this.
Melbourne, Florida’s Florida Vehicle Wraps was involved in a special project this past month that is worth celebrating. The shop, which turns one year old in July, participated in an autism awareness campaign sponsored by a local school that caters to autistic children and their families.
The Puzzle Box Academy was founded in 2014 in Melbourne to serve children with autism and other developmental delays, and in order to raise the public’s awareness surrounding autism and related disorders, which affect one in every 59 children, the school held a contest featuring the police departments of Cocoa, Indian Harbour, Palm Bay and West Melbourne, all located with Brevard County.
The school sponsored wraps on police vehicles in each of the four agencies. According to Florida Vehicle Wraps owner Anthony Timmerman, the officers who drove each vehicle did the actual designs themselves, and then his shop installed the wraps. An online contest was then posted on social media so the public could vote on their favorite wrap. The vote was taking place June 1, so as of this writing we can’t tell you who won, but we can say the wraps were colorful and certainly eye catching. Timmerman says it was a real honor to take part in something so meaningful.
