Featured Project: Dressing for the Occasion

Holthaus Lackner has worked with the hometown baseball club, the Cincinnati Reds, for many decades.

This featured project goes back to 2015, when Major League Baseball held its Midsummer Classic in Cincinnati.

That city’s Holthaus Lackner Signs was a natural fit to do the signage for the All-Star Game given its long history working with the host team, the Cincinnati Reds. This was the fifth time Cincinnati had hosted the All-Star Game but the first time at Great American Ball Park.

Holthaus Lackner was formed in 2010, when two sign companies merged: Gus Holthaus Signs, which was established in 1929, and Lackner Signs, which was established in 1927.

The company’s affiliation with the baseball club goes back decades, to when the Reds played at Crosley Field. Their last season there was 1969.

The year after the Reds hosted the All-Star Game, in 2016, the Reds organization bestowed its first-ever Distinguished Partner Award on Kevin Holthaus, the company president.
