Featured Project: BLM Technologies Hired for 185-Branch Digital Signage Project

Plymouth, Minnesota-based BLM Technologies, a B2B technology company that provides a variety of products and services to various industries, including audio-visual and digital signage services, recently completed phase one of a large-scale digital signage project the company is doing for one of the largest financial institutions in the U.S.

BLM acted as general manager of the project, which initially outfitted 185 branches of the banks across the country with state-of-the-art digital kiosks. BLM Technologies says it oversaw the work from start to finish, with additional components, such as sound masking, being added over time.

The dual-display kiosks, consistent across all 185 bank branches, act as the first line of communications when a customer enters the bank. With messaging ranging from welcome messages to new bank offerings to updates, the approximately 3′ x 6 ½’ kiosks are designed to be simple, efficient and friendly, the company says. It adds that the installation of the kiosks was far from simple. BLM Technologies estimates it takes 16 man-hours to build and install each kiosk, 3 of which are required to set up each machine in a bank branch.

The bank’s headquarters location added a special feature: a 165″ curved Direct View LED wall, displayed through the massive front window and facing a busy downtown street.

“We partnered with Aurora, Illinois-based Peerless AV, the company that created and produces these kiosks, and I can attest to the fact that they are highly sophisticated devices that require the utmost in oversight during transportation and installation,” says John Peterson, vice president of technology sales at Innovative Sales-Digital Signage Solutions. “BLM Technologies came in with confidence from day one, with the knowledge and experience needed to oversee this huge project. BLM handled all the details and allows us to concentrate on making sure each kiosk is perfect-something highly valuable to us.”

BLM Technologies has a legacy of working with financial institutions, having longstanding relationships with 9 of the 10 largest banks in the country.
