Digital Signage Federation Offers ‘Mcro-Credentialed’ Courses

The DSF claims as its mission the goal to grow the digital signage industry through professional development.

Digital Signage Federation Offers 'Mcro-Credentialed' CoursesThe Warrenton, Virginia-based nonprofit Digital Signage Federation, a nonprofit trade organization serving the digital signage industry, announces a dozen micro-credential digital signage training courses, in addition to its previously credentialing course to become DSF-certified.

As announced previously, the DSF has partnered with the Digital Signage Experts Group (DSEG) to provide a full-length certification course. Building on that, the DSF now announces shorter, targeted education and credentialing services through its micro-courses.

DSF micro-credential courses are all included with a DSF credentialing license, available to DSF members. According to the nonprofit, each company receives one license to be used by an employee. Additional licenses may be purchased. All professionals who pass the micro-credential courses will be given a digital badge to use in their online profile.

Types of Credential Courses

The DSF says that it recommends taking the one longer course it is offering, called “DSF Foundations,” prior to taking any of the shorter courses. That course takes about 2-3 hours, the organization says.

The shorter courses are each about 30 minutes long with audio. Full descriptions of those may be found by clicking here. The micro-credential courses are:

  • Choosing a Display
  • Choosing a Partner
  • Content Management
  • Designing Content
  • Experience Design-coming soon
  • Fundamentals of Planning
  • Media Players
  • Mounting Basics
  • Selecting Cloud vs. Premise-Based Software
