As the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, continues to spread, and the Centers for Disease Control provides new updates and recommendations on the pandemic, the decorated apparel, awards, and engraving, and sign and digital printing industries start to figure out their new normal regarding daily operations.

AMB3R Creative CEO Jeremy Picker says his team is working remotely for two weeks “to stay protected.” He notes that his team is all cloud-based, but he’s holding everyone more accountable and increasing communication. “We’re doing Google Hangouts daily to talk about the day.” He adds that vendors are all working regular shifts right now, but things could change at any moment.

Apogee Commemoratives tells GRAPHICS PRO that, although its facilities are closed, the customer service and creative team are working from home. “If you need help with an award project, we’re here to help,” states the company.

ARC Imaging Resources is open for business with full access.

Arlon Graphics LLC is fully operational and shipping all orders from its Placentia, California warehouse and Weifang, China manufacturing facility.

AT Inks is running with limited crews and accessibility.

Augusta Sportswear introduces the Worry-Free Return Policy for businesses dealing with canceled orders. “On blank goods sold and shipped after March 12, 2020, we will take returns on those goods for full refunds on any canceled events until communicated otherwise. BOFA International maintains the production of its portable fume and dust extraction systems, filters, and spares so that businesses can continue to operate as efficiently as possible. The company states that it is managing to adhere to regular lead times for orders for critical sectors.

Brother DTG announces that all employees who can perform their function remotely are doing so. For those unable to work remotely, it’s increased cleaning and instituted new shifts to allow for social distancing. Gildan puts out a statement stating that effective March 17, the Honduran government mandated a seven-day closure of all private enterprises, which was in place until March 29. Gildan also announces the temporary suspension of production at all its manufacturing facilities until mid-April. “This will allow us to respect government recommendations and align production and inventory levels with current demand requirements,” says the company. All distribution centers where Gildan sells its products remain open for the time being. As of April 8, Gildan received authorization from the Honduras government to partially reopen one of its textile facilities to produce fabric needed to create face masks and gowns, and one of its sewing facilities in Honduras for the assembly of these products.

Global Imaging is in touch with all its global manufacturing partners and shipping carriers, and so far, all are acting as “business as usual.”

GMG Americas: The German-based developer of high-end color management software solutions, which has its U.S. headquarters in Hingham, Massachusetts, announces that it remains fully operational through the COVID-19 crisis. The company says that GMG staff is working remotely for any customer support needs, and it remains fully stocked and ready to ship any of its needs. It adds that for customers who cannot access GMG equipment in their offices, it can offer remote solutions to keep them operational from home. Contact the company if this is you.

Golden State Activewear is essential and open for business with full access. Golden State joined alphabroder in February 2020, and all inventory moved to alphabroder’s Fresno, California location. The company recommends customers contact alphabroder for additional distribution information.

Graphic Finishing Partners is open and shipping laminating machines and films daily.

GSG updates customers via letter, stating that all branches are open, but contactless curbside service is running at all locations. Orders can be placed either online at www.gogsg.com or 800-366-1776. All deliveries are left at doors or docks. GSG president Mark Granberry tells GRAPHICS PRO the company restricts almost all travel and vendor visits to its facilities, employs more rigorous cleaning, and is efficiently following CDC guidelines while making deliveries and service calls not resolvable by phone.

Headwear USA says business is running as usual, with its factories in China not being affected. However, with canceled flights and routes worldwide, that would otherwise carry a lot of freight, there are potential problems on the horizon. Although Headwear USA hasn’t experienced significant delays on offshore order, it warns that it could change. “If capacity problems continue, we will see freight prices increase,” the email reads.

Hirsch Solutions receives designation as an essential business by the state of North Carolina. It’s Jonesville distribution center, and Huntersville studio can operate while practicing social distancing and sterilization requirements. Ed Levy of Hirsch says the company is focusing on education, offering expertise, and hosting virtual assistance. This help is extended to all, regardless if they are an existing customer. He adds, “I am asking other business leaders in our industry to do the same. Do what it takes to create a stronger industry. Replace your drive for profits with a drive for compassion. We can prevail, but we must band together and join forces for the greater good!”

HIX Corp is open for business with full access. At this time, the factory is only open to employees.

Hoopmaster, by Midwest Products, is running with limited crews and accessibility and shipping products twice per week. Customers can reach out via email with any questions.

MV Sport | The Game’s director of marketing Michael Gaudioso, says all office employees are working remotely. It suspends New York operations, but its Alabama facility is fully operational—receiving, producing, and shipping orders. OmniPrint International ensures it’s taking the necessary precautions to maintain the safety and health of its employees, customers, and products. President/CEO Victor Peña says its American-based manufacturing facilities continue to operate, and its work from home policies have expanded. OmniPrint has six months’ worth of raw materials to produce inks and consumables. Peña says, “We will have exciting, new web-based shows, entrepreneur sessions that bring a ton of value directly to you, so stay tuned.”

One Step Papers LLC is open and fully accessible, but turnaround time may be a bit longer.

Orbus Exhibit & Display Group is open for business, although all orders are being routed through the company’s Las Vegas facility. Its Illinois headquarters is under a shelter-in-place order from the governor, but the company says it does have much of its support staff working from home, and key members of its sales team are working on accepting and filling new orders.

Ryonet’s chief visionary officer Ryan Moor tells GRAPHICS PRO about the launch of the campaign #dontstopthepresses to “gather ideas and positive messaging in the industry during this time.” The company also plans to host virtual events and education opportunities, as industry events cancel and postpone due to the virus. The Ryonet team has gone 50% remote and is still shipping packages.

SAATI Americas is designated as an essential business based upon its support of defense, healthcare, and infrastructure applications that run across three divisions; filtration, printing, and life protection.

Sandy Alexander is open for business with full access.

SanMar Corp., based in Seattle, Washington, says it has an “up-close view” of the virus. President Jeremy Lott and founder Marty Lott report that sadly, some SanMar employees have lost loved ones to the illness. No employees have contracted the virus. The entire office team is working remotely, and SanMar is fully operational. Currently, the company’s core basics are available at lower pricing.

Sawgrass announces the restriction of employee travel. “Our teams are working tirelessly around the world to ensure that when you are ready, Sawgrass is here for you,” says Darcy Mauro, President of Sawgrass.

Sloan LED is doing everything it can to operate business as usual, while at the same time following CDC guidelines and local health orders. In its offices, it is following social distancing and hygiene guidelines. As for product availability, the company says its inventory is well-stocked.

S-One Holdings, which includes subsidiaries LexJet, Brand Management Group, S-One Labels & Packaging, and DIGIPRINT SUPPLIES, says it will continue to operate its business at 100% capacity. TCS Technologies‘ main sites closed, but it’s running with remote capabilities

Tex Visions tells customers it has been exempt from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is resuming limited operations. It’s temporarily open and permitted to manufacture products for “life-sustaining entities and other businesses operating within the scope of permitted activities.” It suspends order pickup from the store location, most team members are working remotely, on-site workers are practicing social distancing, and offices are cleaned and sanitized daily. It’s taking questions via online chat or email.

Textile Staffing Link LLC is open for business with full access.

The M&R Companies provides updates and resources via its YouTube channel. In a March 31 video, CEO Danny Sweem says the company had to furlough employees and largely shut down operations due to stay-at-home orders but is shipping products out under a limited scale. Its tech services department is available to answer questions, as well as its sales team.

Topmost PRISM Crystal tells GRAPHICS PRO that it’s still operating under regular business hours with limitations on 10 people in the building at a time. The company is following all government instructions.
