Breaking Down the Odors from Fume Extraction

With the appropriate filters, your extraction system should be odorless

Odors can be caused by both gases and particulate. As long as an extraction system has appropriately specified particle and chemical filters, they should be odorless. Having said this, the human nose is far more sensitive than most electronic sensors and often operators will detect when filters are approaching saturation before the extraction system’s alarm is triggered. If you start to detect an odor, it might be time to replace a filter.
