Not all materials are laser-safe, and some can produce an outgassing hazard when laser processed. PVC and Polycarbonate products produce hazardous fumes that damage the laser system and are harmful to breathe. Laser system manufacturers will void warranty claims if these materials are engraved or cut as well. Check the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for substrates being laser processed and use laser-safe materials.
