Avery Dennison Announces 2019 Boot Camp Training

There will be more in 2019, the company says, but the two being announced initally are in Dallas in February and in Las Vegas in April.

bootcamp_275Mentor, Ohio-based graphics films manufacturer Avery Dennison announces its Business Boot Camp for Wrap Professionals schedule for 2019.

The workshop, first introduced in 2018, is designed to teach attendees how to successfully run a business in the vinyl wrap industry, and each session is led by Justin Pate of The Wrap Institute and John Duever of Vinyl Images and Design.

During each session, Pate, Duever and other industry leaders take turns focusing on important aspects that contribute to long-term success in the vinyl wrap industry. Some of these topics include staffing, equipment, sales, design, production, marketing and day-to-day record keeping.

The first Business Boot Camp of 2019 will be held February 15-16 at Car Wrap City in Dallas. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with the guest speakers and members of the Avery Dennison Graphics Team during a reception to be held in the evening on the first day of the class.

Also included in the February course is a special presentation from James “Ruggs” Kochevar, publisher of WRAPS and Sign & Digital Graphics magazines. Kochevar is known for his presence in print and online media, as well as his role in organizing WRAPSCON, which will be held in Long Beach, California, Aug. 15-17. During his presentation, Kochevar will offer his unbiased perspective on wrap trends, mobile advertising, image awareness, branding and overall marketing strategies that utilize wraps.

The second Business Boot Camp will be a day-long event, included as part of the pre-conference day at a large industry trade show taking place April 24-26 in Las Vegas. The trade show officially starts Wednesday but the Boot Camp will be Tuesday, April 23, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

“The Business Boot Camp was an excellent experience,” says Cameron Olson, president of The Graphics Co. in Menifee, California. “We have come out of it with a higher level of organization and accountability inside the shop. In addition, the networking opportunity is invaluable. You can’t put a price on relationships, and that is what comes out of events like this. You are in a room for two days with like-minded industry professionals who are willing to share and be open about what has helped them be successful.”

Additional classes are scheduled for later in 2019. Full course descriptions and registration information are available here.
