Aurora Plastics Enhances Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) Capabilities
This is the fourth acquisition that Aurora Plastics has made in the past two years.
Streetsboro, Ohio-based Aurora Plastics, makers of plastic compounds and advanced polymers used in a variety of industries, including rigid and flexible PVC for sign and graphics making, announces its acquisition of Springfield, Illinois-based Elastocon TPE Technologies.
According to Aurora Plastics, the acquisition continues to expand its comprehensive product line, bringing broader TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) compounding capabilities to the company’s portfolio of PVC compounds, PVC alloys, CPE alloys, low-smoke flame-retardant concentrates, purge compounds and TPE compounds.
“Elastocon brings a broader offering of soft-touch and abrasion-resistant materials,” says Aurora Plastics’ CEO, Darrell Hughes. “It also deepens our presence and offerings to our valued customers in the medical, packaging, consumer, industrial, automotive and non-automotive transportation markets.”
Dave Barkus, the president of Elastocon TPE, will stay with Aurora Plastics to help strengthen the commercial and technical teams’ ability to drive growth.
This is the fourth acquisition for Aurora Plastics in two years and will continue to expand the company’s product breadth and depth, not only in thermoplastic product adjacencies but also geographically.
Aside from its Streetsboro corporate headquarters, Aurora Plastics has production facilities in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas and Canada.
