4 Steps to Tackle the Sublimation Learning Curve

Get comfortable with sublimation by following these four steps:

1. The first step is to buy a reputable system that has technical support and education. I hear stories of people buying sublimation systems and then not being able to get help when they need it.
2. Once you have your system, follow the directions from your dealer – it should have a program to get you up and running quickly.
3. Once you understand everything from the software to the color management, and from the inks to the printer operation, then you are ready to start making “stuff.” Don’t run out and take any orders, instead take the time to practice on different types of substrates to get comfortable with the processes. In fact, go ahead and build sample kits (by market) that you can use in the sales process. Thus, you are learning and creating valuable marketing tools at the same time.
4. Be sure to attend webinars and seminars taught by sublimation professionals, dealers, and manufacturers, so you can ask questions and speed up your learning.
