Why should I consider the noise level when shopping for a compressor?

Not all compressors are created equal when it comes to the noise level they produce. If you are shopping for a compressor, make sure you can hear it before you purchase. If you work out of your garage, this is important and should be a matter of concern for yourself as well, depending on how close you will be to the compressor’s location during work. Noise can pose a problem to hearing over long periods of time. If you need to have the compressor close to where you will blast, you may want to consider building a box around it with soundproof tiles. Make sure, though, that you allow space for air circulation so that the compressor won’t overheat while running.
