What should sublimators be aware of when heat-pressing plates?

Plates usually refers to either sublimatable metal flat sheets or ceramic dishes. In regard to the ceramic dinner plates, decorative plates, or dishes, a plate attachment or plate puck is required to reach down into the flat printable area in the plate and press inside. A swing-away press alone will not press inside the recessed area in a plate. There must be a heated “die” reaching down into the plate to properly press it. For thin flat metal plates, any flat heat press will accommodate the material.
