What should be taken into account when adding a laser to your shop?

When bringing a new laser into your shop, you will need to ensure that there is adequate space around the laser. Because many of the lasers are air-cooled, it is essential that you leave some space around the perimeter of the laser. At minimum, you want to leave 4-6″ just for the ventilation ducting. Keep in mind that over time you will need to service your laser, which means that you will need to have access to the back of the laser.
