The swing-away press is usually a commercial-quality press and because the top platen comes down on the item all at once in a straight-down motion, the pressure is usually more consistent. This makes it perfect for transferring on thicker items and overall use with both substrates and numerous transfer systems.
Because the heating element comes straight down, swing-away presses provide consistent pressure throughout the item. Swing-away presses essentially are limitless (other than 3-D pressing) in what they can do. Even the most difficult items such as glass frames and ceramic tiles come out beautifully as a result.
