What considerations should be made when sandcarving wood?

It is important to note when sandcarving wood surfaces to use aluminum oxide abrasive in place of silicon carbide. The silicon carbide is a reflective product and if any grit is left in the wood grain, it can reflect through the paint. The recommended blasting pressure with 5 mil is 40 to 45 psi or 6 mil at 45 to 50 psi.
