What are the best laser settings to make quality custom stamps?

Laser engraving stamp materials takes a lot of power and a slower-than-usual raster speed. Almost all laser operators set their power to 100 percent, but for a lower power machine (30-40 watts) speed may only be 3-5 percent. For a higher power machine (100-120 watts) speed can be 15-20 percent. The ideal settings will result in a stamp die that has a minimum relief of .035 of an inch (about one-third of the thickness of the laserable rubber slab).

Before attempting to engrave stamps, be sure that your machine’s Air Assist system is on. If you’re unsure whether your laser is suitable for stamp engraving, check with the manufacturer of your machine.
