A fiber laser has benefits over other laser sources. For the awards and engraving industry, a big one is being able to engrave and easily mark directly on metals without having to use paints or sprays. This is a big advantage for marking on uncoated metals. Fiber lasers can also engrave ceramic as well as mark on many plastics. Fiber lasers are also inherently reliable and require almost no maintenance during their operating life.
