Ask the customer to provide a meaningful object and mount that object to the base or incorporate it into the award. It could be an insignia, figurine, medal, badge, or anything meaningful to the recipient.
Work with the customer to encourage them to take an active role in determining what the object is. Often, they will already have an object in mind, but you may need to ask them the right questions to get the gears turning.
