Determining Font Adjustments for Sandcarving

Not all fonts work for all substrates.

Keep in mind that not all fonts work for all substrates, such as stone, clay pavers, or concrete pavers. Designs on a stone or paver require depth in the etch, and some of these surfaces are porous. Choosing a bold font ensures success on these types of surfaces. If great depth is required for granite etching, then it is best to add a stroke to those fonts that are not thick and bold.
