Booth Backdrops for New Retailers in the Event Scene

A new business may be on a shoestring budget, but that doesn't need to hinder your ability to profit from event-driven opportunities like craft fairs or fundraisers.

If you’re a new business and looking to attend event-driven sales opportunities like craft fairs or fundraisers, there are several ways to cut down on start-up costs. For example, you can cover up heavily used, scratched, and tape residue-laden curtain poles and avoid having to purchase new ones. A backdrop, however, is one thing you should spend money on. Luckily, there are choices you can make about your backdrop that end up saving you money in the long-run.

The least expensive fabric backdrops can be found at a retail price of around $500. Fabric always looks great and can be reprinted at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one. This type of backdrop also has the advantage of being person-portable, as a result of being lightweight and able to break down into a small package. That means if you’re on a tight budget, you might not need to use the material handling services the day of the event.

To make sure you create an effective backdrop that will last a long time, include your brand’s main colors and logo as high up as possible, so the artwork can be seen from afar. Backdrops should be used to set the tone for your brand and booth, but fade into the background. Don’t try to use these to explain product features and benefits. This is a job better suited to a well-trained salesperson.
