Adjusting Fiber Laser Settings for Different Substrates

Become familiar with your machine to have a better quote on engraving jobs for customers.

Available power, material type, coatings (if any), the type of mark desired, reflectivity, etc. will have a big impact on laser setting requirements. One thing that may change drastically from material to material is mark time. As an example, the settings required to create a dark black anneal mark will considerably lengthen the mark time as compared to marking on anodized aluminum or even plastic. You need to be familiar with your machine and take the time to consider this when quoting engraving jobs for your customers.
