Is sandcarving safe for my health or the environment?

When used as directed, sandcarving products and their debris are environmentally safe. Sandcarving equipment has come a long way since the days of sandblasting rust off a car. Equipment made today is engineered with safety and cleanliness as top priorities. Cabinets include built-in dust collection systems that hold in the abrasive while circulating enough so that the user can clearly see the substrate being sandcarved through the viewing window.

Gloves can be attached to the machine, protecting users from the abrasive dust. All soluble components of IKONICS photoresist films have absolutely no hazardous parts (you’ll want to get information on other brands on this). For further health and safety information, we recommend referring to product-specific Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
