How do I know if my vinyl cutter blade is dull?

Aside from it not cutting very well, imperfections usually show up in inside corners of vinyl when weeding. If vinyl weeding is a struggle in certain areas and you need to pull a little harder, this means the blade is starting to dull. The blade doesn’t immediately need to be changed or thrown out. If you bump up the pressure on your cutter, it can resolve the issue temporarily. If decorators find themselves increasing the pressure more and more, it’s time for a new blade.

Also, don’t always assume that every cutting issue is a blade problem. It’s an easy problem to fix but look into other considerations like poor blade holder rotation or grooves in your cutting strip. These can also cause poor cutter performance.
