How can I tell if something is wrong with my fume extractor?

It’s a fume extractor -it is supposed to filter the air from the laser engraver and return clean air to the room. If you see that there is too much smoke in the laser cabinet, smoke coming out of the fume extractor exhaust, or have excessive odors, you should check the state of your filters and replace them if necessary. If the fume extractor is making strange noises, a problem may exist with the sealing gaskets or the blower.

If any of these issues are observed, you can always contact the manufacturer of the fume extractor first as opposed to the laser manufacturer. The fume extractor manufacturer’s support staff will have the most expertise to diagnose the problem and get you back on track with your production schedule.
