Any major craft store canvas will do. Most users don’t directly etch on canvases, however. They spray paint it first and then engrave a photo onto the surface. The laser removes the paint and exposes the canvas underneath. Engraving photos on spray-painted canvases is popular and can often result in a rustic or antique look. Be careful to apply the spray paint evenly. If you have more paint in certain areas, the laser won’t get through it as easily as in areas with a thinner coat.
