Can UV printing be combined with sandcarving?

I heard of companies using the UV printer to print fine details on glass, then sandcarving the glass and using the ink as a resist and washing the ink off after blasting. It would also be beautiful to sandcarve the back of a glass panel, and then print other details on the front of the glass. One day we will give this a shot!
