Hibbett Sports Names Interim Chief Financial Officer
Hibbett Sports names Scott R. Humphrey as the interim chief financial officer, effective Sept. 29, 2019.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Hibbett Sports names Scott R. Humphrey as the interim chief financial officer, effective Sept. 29, 2019. Humphrey replaces Christine Skold, who has fulfilled her contract term.
Humphrey previously served as the chief financial officer for Ciner Resources, LP and possesses a background in treasury roles at multiple companies. Humphrey holds an MBA from Georgetown University. In his interim role, Humphrey oversees the Hibbett’s financial operations through the end of the fiscal year and assists with the transition when the company finds a full-time replacement. The company says its board of directors is continuing its search for a permanent chief financial officer.
“We feel very fortunate to have someone with Scott’s extensive strategic execution and investor relations history with a public company as well as his strong treasury and financial planning experience as we head into our planning and budgeting season,” says Jeff Rosenthal, CEO of Hibbett. “We are pleased that he has contracted to serve in an interim capacity through our fiscal year-end and through the transition of our next CFO. We also want to thank Christine for her invaluable service during a critical time for the Company. We wish her the very best in her new position.”
The news comes as the latest in high-level transitions at the company. In April 2019, Rosenthal announced he was retiring as CEO.
