Vantage Apparel Partners with 1% For the Planet

AVENEL, N.J.-Vantage Apparel announces a partnership with 1% For the Planet, an organization that encourages businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through annual membership and everyday actions. Vantage says it will donate a portion of the proceeds from multiple profit sectors.

“In an effort to increase ethical, sustainable practices, we are thrilled to be partnered alongside an alliance that will essentially promote valuable environmental practices in the workplace and increase preservation of our environment” states Ira Neaman, president of Vantage Apparel. “By 2020, we plan to manufacture several styles with recycled fabric, including men’s and women’s polos, shirts, and hoodies.”

The apparel company pledges to donate 1% of decoration sales from Patagonia items and 1% of sales from its future Recycled and Climate Collections to support nonprofit organizations focused on environmental and sustainability causes. Established in 2002 by Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, 1% for the Planet features a diverse network of members including brands like New Belgium Brewing, individual contributors, and musicians like Jack Johnson.

“Because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources,” the organization declares on its site.

Vantage says the decision to partner with 1% for the Planet is an extension of the company’s mission to operate responsibly and sustainably with “respect towards the environment.”

“Recognizing that businesses, consumers, and citizens throughout the globe all have a responsibility to the planet, Vantage now has a partner and alliance that shares a mutual commitment towards the protection and restoration of the planet,” the company adds.
