TEMPE, Ariz.-InkSoft launches the Print or Die contest. The month-long competition kicks off May 2 in conjunction with National Screen Printing Day.

Using commissioned artwork with the same title, the Print or Die contest “represents a battle cry for the decorated apparel industry and is intended to be a tribal community badge to rally screen printers from around the world,” says the company. As part of the competition, winners receive a $500 credit from eco-conscious apparel company Allmade Apparel. InkSoft encourages contestants to drum up different ways to print the graphic and submit it. The company says any decoration method is eligible for submission including direct or indirect screen printing, heat-applied graphics, print/cut transfers, embroidery, and direct-to-garment printing.

Additionally, submissions can be “a trendy decorating technique, printing it on a unique new product, or even a dramatic wall display,” adds InkSoft.

InkSoft determines winners by community votes. Decorators can submit their finished project on Instagram and tag their submission with @inksoft, @allmadeapparel, and the hashtag #printordiecontest.

The contest artwork is available under a Creative Commons license which allows the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work.
