CHINO, Calif.-SpectraUSA, a California-based T-shirt manufacturer announces the acquisition of artisanal garment dye studio Tie Dye Tees. The studio is set to be incorporated into the SpectraUSA organization by the end of April 2019. SpectraUSA says the addition of the dye atelier “heralds further growth for SpectraUSA, not only in their inventory but also for their private label and custom line apparel offerings.”

SpectraUSA notes that Tie Dye Tees has been a rising force in the apparel industry, quietly making a name for itself through signature custom-line work in the marquee brand T-shirt manufacturing space.

“By joining forces with SpectraUSA, Tie Dye Tees gains valuable expertise in the practicalities of the fashion trade, while SpectraUSA acquires a studio of creatives, driven by design and artistry,” a press release on the announcement states.

When asked if either company had to lay staff off during the process of acquisition, Spectra head Brian McLaughlin says, “No, this was a lock, stock, and barrel deal. We’ve created an entirely new division at Spectra to accommodate their studio and keep these jobs in California.”

McLaughlin hails the Tie Dye Tees design team as “Game-changing for Spectra” and its wholesale customers.

SpectraUSA currently plans to incorporate the Tie Dye Tees inventory into SpectraUSA’s existing range while allowing the Tie Dye team a degree of flexibility in their creativity and design processes.
