It is important to recognize that the importance of color carries over to the worldwide web. The majority of retailers have websites today, with many people learning to take charge of their business’s web presence. But before you start picking what colors you prefer for your website, consider these things:
- What do you want your website to say about your business?
- When choosing the colors of your site, first consider your intended audience.
- What is the age range of your audience?
- Are they primarily based in the United States (and even more specifically, where in the U.S.)?
- Is it a global audience?
- Are they primarily female or male?
These are but a few questions you should answer that can affect the color choices for your site. Probably the most important question, however, is whether or not you are using web-safe colors. If not, what you have created (whether on your own or with a web company) may not appear to your audience as you intended.
