The Benefits and Drawbacks of Purchasing a Laser Overseas
Jim O'Neill, Pacesetter Awards, shares his thoughts on the matter.
Price is of course the benefit. The drawbacks are the support proposition. For a retailer, they depend on their lasers, and one or two being down at once can be a disaster. There are several U.S.-based laser companies to choose from that have support for our industry. Any overseas machinery support problems are exacerbated by the language gap. Another concern for any overseas machines is phone-support hours. A U.S. major brand machine has market-tested quality, where the offshore machines are more of a question mark in regard to quality.
