Featured Project: A Space Odyssey Wrap
Silver metallic as the base film topped with reflective accents gives this wrap its multi-layered effect.
This featured project comes to us from Golden, Colorado’s Vision Visual Custom Signs & Graphics Studio. Founded in 2017, the shop is a full-service sign and graphics shop that also does trade show materials and, obviously, vehicle wraps.
This particular project was one the shop did for a member of Colorado Movie Cars, a club founded in 2008 whose members dress their vehicles up to replicate fictional ones seen in films, TV shows and even video games. In this case, the client wanted to convert her Honda Civic into the Normandy spaceship from the “Mass Effect” video game.
According to shop owner Jeff Spanski, the contours of the vehicle made for “a ton of planning and measuring to get that graphic to flow properly.” Both the design and installation required a lot of intricate work, he says, but the client was thrilled with the result. Vison Visual used 3M silver metallic as the base film, and reflective film was used throughout for the multi-layered effect the client was after.
