When it comes to sign projects, few can be as daunting as one that requires rebuilding an antique sign using some of the key original components, and constructing it in such a way that it will, like the original, last generations.
That was the challenge that longtime contributor and Texas signmaker Rick Williams found himself dealing with a few years ago. The owners of a local rural cemetery-which housed the remains of some of Williams’ predecessors-realized that the cemetery’s sign was in desperate need of rebuilding. They contacted Williams with the request that he use the original letters, which had been hand-crafted out of metal generations ago.
