Print Industry Veteran Buys Pennsylvania Minuteman Press Franchise

Farmingdale, New York-based franchisor Minuteman Press International announces that Rajiv “Raj” Yajnik is the new owner of a full-service Minuteman Press franchise in Southampton, Pennsylvania.

The company says that Yajnik’s last position was as vice president, international business for International Paper, one of the largest paper companies in the world. Over his career he has held various positions in printing and packaging companies, including going to India where he was chief operating officer for the largest printing and packaging company there.

Upon his return to the U.S. he initially planned to retire but that was short-lived.

“I was running this company as its CEO and then came back to the United States with the intent to retire; but after working so many hours most of my life, I tried retirement for more than a year and decided I just couldn’t do it,” Yajnik says.

He knew he loved the printing industry but didn’t want to go through starting up his own business, which is why, after shopping around, he chose Minuteman Press.

“I was dealing in paper and print my whole life,” Yajnik says. “When I was with International Paper, I had seven different operations under my management throughout the world and I traveled extensively, so my experience was at a very senior level. To go from that to running my own print and marketing center is very different, but it has been exciting. It would be more stressful if I had to invent my own systems and do it without support. That’s why I looked for a franchise.”

He says that growth is a priority for him, and he is already looking at acquiring smaller print companies in his area.

He adds that customer service is something he very much enjoys about his new job.

“I am aiming to go beyond customer service into customer delight,” Yajnik says.
