Giving Back: Meridian Announces Second Annual Scholarship Offering
The company held its first scholarship offering last year and received 100 applications, it says.
Aberdeen, North Carolina-based Meridian, a manufacturer of kiosks and digital signage solutions, announces the launch of its second annual high school merit scholarship.
In its first year, the scholarship received nearly 100 applications from graduating seniors across North Carolina. The application window for the graduating class of 2020 is now open and applications will be accepted through April 10th.
“Last year was the inaugural year of our high school merit scholarship and it was an overwhelming success,” says Meridian chief business officer, Christa Gilder. “We are excited to once again be able to offer the Meridian high school merit scholarship to a deserving student from North Carolina.”
All students currently enrolled in a North Carolina high school who are graduating in the spring of 2020 are welcome to submit an application. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 unweighted GPA and be planning to attend a two- or four-year North Carolina college or university following graduation.
Submitted applications will be reviewed by an internal scholarship board and awarded based on overall quality, creativity, and completeness of submitted essays. One student will be selected to receive the one-time award of $1,000. Scholarship funds must be used to pay for qualified expenses, including tuition, books, and/or room and board for the 2020-2021 school year.
