Baxter's experience with technology dates back decades through his time with several high-profile companies.
Philadelphia-based Almo Professional A/V, a distributor of professional audio and visual equipment, announces that technology industry veteran and former Samsung Electronics North America president and CEO Tim Baxter has joined its advisory board.
Baxter has spent more than 35 years in the consumer electronics, telecom, mobile appliance and entertainment industries. His specialties include managing and scaling businesses and teams, complexity, crisis management, technology, leadership, change management, board roles and giving back, according to Almo Corp.
“Tim brings decades of leadership success and has cultivated expertise in a wide range of areas, particularly Almo’s four core businesses-appliances, consumer electronics, Pro A/V and housewares-which enables him to provide a very unique perspective to our board,” says Warren Chaiken, president and CEO of Almo Corp. “Bringing Tim’s voice to the Almo Advisory Board is sure to result in a wealth of new ideas that help accelerate the goals of the board and benefit all Almo shareholders, from our employees and suppliers to our distribution partners and the overall industries we serve.”
According to Chaiken, the Almo Advisory Board’s primary functions are to provide experienced counsel on business direction, unbiased insights and ideas from outside perspectives, and support of new business development.
Prior to Samsung, Baxter held executive, marketing, product management and sales positions at Sony Corp. of America, AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He currently serves on several other boards and is active with Covenant House New Jersey.
