Clover Imaging Surpasses the Half-Million Mark in New Trees Planted

Hoffman Estates, Illinois-based Clover Imaging Group, which makes a variety of remanufactured inks, including aqueous, latex, solvent and eco-solvent, announces that through its partnership with Denver-based PrintReleaf, a software company that connects commercial printers with global reforestation projects, it has succeeded in reforesting more than a half-million trees.

Clover Imaging says that the total of 500,734 newly-planted trees were planted in countries from the United States to Madagascar, Brazil, India, and others. According to PrintReleaf’s formula, that represents an offset of 4,172,688,385 pages of printed material.

PrintReleaf plants one tree for every 8,333 printed pages, and they also provide reforestation jobs to uplift the communities in which they operate.

Organizations and companies that partner with PrintReleaf can choose from among seven reforestation projects going on around the globe: in Brazil, the Dominican Republic, India, Ireland, Madagascar, Mexico, and the United States. The company’s patented technology not only tracks paper consumption, but also monitors its reforestation partners to ensure fulfillment.

Sustainability is at the heart of Clover Imaging’s business model. Aside from remanufacturing inks it also does printer cartridges. The company says it kept 42 million of them out of the landfill in 2018.
