Spandex UK and swissQprint Are Parting Ways
The wide-format printer manufacturer will be handling its own distribution through a facility to be located in Berkshire.
Switzerland-based large-format printer manufacturer swissQprint announces that it and Spandex UK, a distributor of graphic solutions in that region, are “parting company by mutual agreement.
Spandex UK had entered into an exclusive agreement with swissQprint in 2011 to distribute and support their unique range of UV flatbed systems. But swissQprint has expanded its project portfolio since then, the company says, and Spandex UK was the company that could help it make inroads into other markets, such as packaging and specialist print and industrial applications.
Instead, the Swiss company says it is in a new subsidiary to become the sole provider of sales, servicing and application support in the UK.
“Being the exclusive distributor of such an innovative product range has really helped Spandex expand into new markets but all good things must come to an end and we wish swissQprint continued success in the UK,” says Leon Watson, general manager of Spandex UK.
Erskine Stewart will be managing director of swissQprint UK Ltd. He has been involved in the wide-format signage and packaging market in the UK for more than 15 years. Erskine will be establishing the new subsidiary in Bracknell, Berkshire, which will be home base for the swissQprint UK team. A brand-new demo center is planned for that new facility, the company says.
