Featured Project: French Printer Company Uses its Massivit 3D Printer to Celebrate World Cup

France-based graphics company Deko 3D by Sépia recently used its Massivit 1800 3D printer from Israel-based Massivit Printing Technologies to build a life-size, 3D printed model of a professional soccer player in honor of the World Cup soccer tournament, which was held in France.

There was a tie-in between Massivit and the player depicted in the rendering. The player, from the French team, is sponsored by Arkema, and Sartomer, a business line of Arkema, is heavily involved with Massivit. The 3D printer manufacturer says that Sartomer’s N3xtDimension UV-curable liquid resins make up a significant portion of Massivit 3D’s unique, proprietary Gel Dispensing Printing technology. It’s that technology, Massivit says, that “enables the super-fast production of super-sized, lightweight, hollow, 3D-printed models up to 1.8 meters/6 feet high, giving Massivit 3D’s customers the power of 3D advertising.”

To make the statue, the soccer player was initially scanned to provide a high-resolution model. The resulting display was 5 ½’ tall and was printed in just 11 hours.
