Mind’s Eye Graphics and SAATI Partner Up for Professional Screenmaking Course
Mind's Eye Graphics hosts a PROScreen Professional Screenmaking course in partnership with SAATI Americas.
Decatur, Indiana-based Mind’s Eye Graphics (MEG), which provides contract screen printing and technical training, hosts a PROScreen Professional Screenmaking course in partnership with SAATI Americas. Keith Perkins and Alan Howe of SAATI Americas, as well as Greg Kitson and the Mind’s Eye staff, will lead the technical instructions.
The two-day course, with special meet-and-greet event, is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, March 7-9. The meet-and-greet session is held on March 7, from 6-8 p.m. and includes pizza and snacks. Mind’s Eye Graphics says the intention for this “bonus activity” is to “put a name and a face together” and to give participants a chance to “be social and meet other students” before the workshop March 8-9.
The workshop features coverage of screen making in its entirety. This includes the following:
- Frame and mesh selection
- Rapid mesh tensioning
- Mesh prep
- Emulsion choice and coating techniques
- Exposure calculation and optimization
- Reclaim options
- Using and understanding screen testing
- Calibration equipment
- Screen chemistry choices in a textile printing environment
According to a release from Mind’s Eye Graphics, “the instructors bring well over 100 years of professional screen-making experience in all types of textile priority facilities large and small.”
The workshop fee includes three networking meals with snacks and beverages, as well as samples of emulsion and various reclaim chemistry. The class size is limited to the first 30 paid participants.
